Beautiful Zombie Challenge: Eating the Brains of those Who Bleed Glitter

Quite awhile ago, The Makeup Zombie posted the Beautiful Zombie challenge and invited people to make up a beautiful zombie themed look and send it in! A couple weeks ago on a Sunday, I was getting ready for work and I decided to go zombie......just kidding! I wasn't going anywhere and I was bored so I cracked open the old traincases to see what zombie-ish look I could come up with. I decided to be a glam goth zombie who eats the brains of people who bleed glitter. Speaking of which, here is a comment from someone named ChaosButterrfly on the Makeup Zombie's post that made me laugh: "And I feel like bleeding glitter would be painful....can you imagine trying to squeeze glitter through the tiny capillaries like the ones in your eyes? Oww. :("

Yes, that would hurt indeed. Anyway, here's what I used for this look.

FACE: MAC Prep and Prime and MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation in NC15 were applied first. I then applied Manic Panic's Goth White Cream Powder over top of the foundation to give a bit of a mottled appearance (I am supposed to be dead, you know.) I was then going to apply some Manic Panic Virgin Pressed Powder (it's bright white) but I couldn't find it. I swear I had some somewhere, perhaps it got lost at a goth club? Anyway, that Goth White stuff won't stay in place without powder, so I had to powder lightly with MAC Select Sheer pressed powder in NC15 which toned down the whiteness but further added to the mottled dead skin effect.

BROWS: I used a mangey old Annabelle eyebrow pencil I dredged up from the bottom of the traincase in Black.

CHEEKS: Evil Shades Blush in Brazen was used. WOW, this one is BRIGHT! It can be applied much more lightly for a wearable look but that is not what I was going for here!

LIPS: Lips were lined using Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide On Liner in Perversion and an old Annabelle lip liner in Cherry. Morgana Cryptoria's Twinkling Rubies was applied to the middle of the lips and MAC Lipmix in Black was blended from the outer lips inwards with a MAC retractable lip brush.

EYES: Eyes were prepped with UDPP and MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. I dusted Sugarpill's Love + over my eyelids and under my eyes and blended outwards up to the forehead and temples. NARS Night Fever eyeshadow was smudged below the eye for that dead kind of look. For the upper lid, I simply overloaded the crap out of my brush with Evil Shades Wiggle dress (black with red glitter). I applied my eyeshadow and let the excess fallout go all over my face and then just smudged it around with my finger. I used Maybelline Lash Stiletto Voluptuous to lightly coat the upper and lower lashes before appling false eyelashes. I always use Duo Lash Adhesive in Dark Tone. The lower lashes were some random ones I bought for Halloween and the upper lashes are by a brand called Elise. The waterline was lined with Annabelle lip liner in Cherry.

BLOOD: My chest area was dusted with Medusa's Makeup Body Shimmer in Ghostly using the super cute Medusa's Makeup pink kabuki brush! I applied Avon Perfect Wear Extralasting Lipgloss in Infinite Berry to the areas where I wanted the blood to be dripping. Then I mixed some TKB Trading red glitter with some generic eyeliner seal and painted it overtop.

DREADFALLS: I made these a long time ago, so they are a bit ratty. I like to make my own because I have bought a few very well made pairs and they were quite expensive. Mine aren't quite as perfect as the ones I have bought, but they are still wearable.

  1. You totally nailed 'glam goth zombie'! I love the creativity with the blood; it looks just like the fake blood I buy around Halloween.

  2. Oh man this is so awesome. And you made the falls? I think they look pretty good. I've wanted some for a long time but I could never afford them.
