Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette: Mi Vida Loca

Earlier this year, I acquired the Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Palette. I thought I'd share some swatches because it has great colours for summer looks!

THE PACKAGING

I definitely love the packaging!
From left to right: Swan Song, Marya, No Regrets, Drama For Yo Momma, Mad Max, Dublin, Sparklehorse, Altruism.
Eyeliner: Wonderchild.
Twiggy was helping me with my pictures.

Thankfully, there are no cream eyeliners or shitty brushes included in this palette (if you have any of the older Kat Von D palettes you know what I'm talking about!) I think the addition of a mini eyeliner is a much better idea than the cream eyeliner/shadows that dry out after a couple of months. Though the eyeshadow colours are pretty basic, they are of nice quality and pigmentation. My only complaint is that Swan Song and Marya look very similar on; Marya is a shimmery light pink and Swan Song is a shimmery white with a pink shift. The eyeliner is a really pretty colour, it is a deep, bright blue with sparkles. It goes on very smoothly.

THE SWATCHES

From left to right: Altruism, Sparklehorse, Dublin, Mad Max, Drama For Yo Momma, No Regrets, Marya, Swan Song, Wonderchild Autrograph Pencil.

In conclusion, here are some words of "wisdom" from Kat Von D that are quoted on the back of this palette: "A smoky eye adds an instant air of mystery." Okay then.......I think it would be a bit difficult to make a smokey eye with the colours in this palette, but I suppose one could try.....

  1. Oh boy... "and so do random statements!" Yeah... maybe they got her quote on the wrong palette? I still haven't tried anything from Kat Von D. Some of her palettes do look interesting!

  2. These colors are really pretty, but that is so weird about the smokey eye tip... Makes you feel like they just randomly slap a quote onto these products. I like that they finally got their act together and left out the cream shadows!

  3. I did wonder why they didn't change that quote for this palette, it's literally on every single one I've ever bought. I do love this palette though, it's just so cheerful with it's delicious rainbow contents. :3

  4. Haha! A neon smokey eye...that could actually be very fabulous. Hard to do with just the palette itself, though! Seems like they were not quite paying attention, but it is nice that they put in a mini liner instead of a bad brush or cream shadow. I like the brightness of these shades!

  5. LOL at the words of wisdom! These colors look great! You know, I've heard so many good things about Kat Von D's palettes but I had Ludwig and hated it. Returned that piece of crap after using it twice. So despite all the pretty pictures I've seen, I steer clear of her palettes now.

  8. I'm actually surprised this palette is as pastel as it is. I thought it was darker. I hope you get good use out of it and we get to see the results!
