Imperative Reaction

Recently, I travelled to a nearby city to see Imperative Reaction. This was before I found out that they would be putting on a show where I live next weekend! (Yes, I'm going to see them again!) Anyway, they were really good live except for the fact that their performance and sound is migrating slightly toward a rock band-ish feel rather than a more electronic feel which I prefer. Two of the opening bands were some lovely examples of Canadian (REPRESENT!) electro/inustrial/cyberpunk: Left Spine Down and Virtual Terrorist. Of course, this sort of event calls for some dark makeup! I used the Sleek Sparkle palette which is one of my goth makeup go-to's as it is full of dark and sparkly shadows!

Neutral Eyes, Bright Lips

Hello! Here is an everyday kind of look that I would wear to go shopping or run errands and whatnot. I sometimes like to throw on a brighter lip colour when I do boring neutral daytime appropriate makeup just to keep myself amused. I'm wearing Fyrinnae Shangri-La Lip Lustre which is one of my favourite shades; it's actually a bit more purple than it looks in my pictures.

FACE: MAC Prep and Prime, MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NC15, MAC Select Sheer Powder in NC15.

BROWS: MAC Eyebrow Pencil in Stud.

CHEEKS: Tarte Amazonian Clay Bronzer in Park Avenue Princess (totally did NOT go with the rest of this look, FAIL!)

LIPS: Fyrinnae Lip Lustre in Shangri-La.

EYES: Base: UDPP and MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre.
Eyeshadows: From UD NAKED: Gunmetal and Creep. From UD NAKED 2: Verve and Pistol.

Swatches: Fyrinnae Lip Lustres

Over the last little while I have accumulated quite a collection of Fyrinnae's Lip Lustres. They are a unique lip product in my opinion as I have never tried anything else quite like it. They have great pigmentation, are buildable and non-sticky, and dry down on your lips for excellent wearing time. They are also great for layering over lipsticks for a really cool effect. My favourite part about them is that they come in a wide range of both wearable and unnatural colours so they're great for experimenting and club looks!(Note: availability of colours is somewhat inconsistent.) My one complaint is that they are a bit drying to the lips but I tend to have really dry lips all the time anyway. On to the swatches!

The taller tubes in the middle of the above picture reflect current packaging, to my knowledge. The smaller tubes on the left and right are older packaging.

From left to right: Visual Kei, Ultra Phantom, Type A, Sweetest Poison, Shangri-La, Romantique, Panda Love, Narwhal Nuzzles, Meloncholy, Less Than Three, Ghostly Voice, Fanservice, Diabolic Masquerade, Coffin Velvet, Candy Decadence.
Wearable Favourites: Visual Kei, Shangri-La, Type A, Meloncholy.
Pretending to be Fancy Favourites: Sweetest Poison, Romantique.
Goth Club Favourites: Pierced, Diabolic Masquerade.
Layering Favourites: Ultra Phantom, Ghostly Voice, Candy Decadence.
I am a bit crabby about my swatch photo as I had left Pierced in my clubbing purse so I missed it in my photo. However, it shall have its own swatch photo because it is my favourite!
Gunmetal lips FTW!!
What do you think of Fyrinnae's Lip Lustres?

Goth Club Look: Victorious

I'm getting bored with my clubbing clothes. I usually go for cyber-y types of things for the most part but I'm becoming more and more drawn to more fancy Victorian-inspired clothing. I want to wear heavy fabrics and lace and ruffles and feathers and sparkly jewelry. I also want to try to make an epic steampunk outfit as well that features bronzey colours and my least favourite colour ever......BROWN. My lust for something new reminded me of another old look that I never posted that was centered around a rather poorly made Lip Service ensemble. It is one of the few things that I have in the way of ruffles and lace. The outfit is made of ugly fabrics and the top is not boned, nor is it long enough for my torso, thus I must wear it over top of another corset. The skirt is also too short for me. My mother bought it for me many years ago and she said it made me look like I worked in a saloon. Despite all of this, it is still fun to wear to change things up a bit.

FACE: MAC Prep and Prime, MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NC15, MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder in NC15.

BROWS: MAC Eyebrow Pencil in Stud.

CHEEKS: Evil Shades Blush in Pin Up.

LIPS: MAC Media lipstick.

EYES: Base: UDPP and MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy was used as well.
Lid: L'Oreal Colour Infallible eyeshadow in 13 Burning Black and Evil Shades eyeshadow in Cranberry Champagne.
Outer-V and Upper Crease: My Pretty Zombie Coffin Critters.
Waterline: UD Perversion.
Upper Lashline: Maybelline Black Liquid Eyeliner and Lise Watier Eye Glitter Liner in Black Diamond.
Lower Lashline: Make Up Forever Aqua Liner in 11 Diamond Burgundy.
Mascara: Maybelline The Falsies.

Top and Skirt: Lip Service (Blacklist).
Cameo collar: Made for me by my friend.
Lace cuff: Made for me by my friend.
Gear necklace: don't know the brand.
Hair clip: Moon Maiden Jewelry.
Headband: Le Chateau.
Dreads: By me.
Shoes: Metropolis Shoes (now Hades).
I know that dreads coordinate poorly with this sort of outfit, however, I have had short hair for a couple of years which also coordinates poorly with this sort of outfit.
I brought along my walking-stereotype kitschy coffin purse from Demonia. (Hey, it's huge and holds a bunch of stuff and has a mirror inside of it!) I also found a new purpose for a super old shawl that my sister had given to me that she didn't use anymore. It works as a nice little cover-up for mild weather.
YAY, it's finally getting cooler out! I am DYING for some fall makeup collections to be released!!! What's on your fall makeup wishlist?
