Dressed to Kill

This was originally supposed to be posted right after my Fyrinnae swatch post to demonstrate how awesome Dressed to Kill is. The last couple of weeks have been rather "eventful" in both good and bad ways so I have not got around to my blogging, argh!

AW YEAH  I love things with spikes and crosses on them so I am quite pleased with my new shoes!

Fyrinnae Swatches

I recently placed an order with Fyrinnae....I was kind of not supposed to be buying any makeup this year, but as you can see IT'S NOT GOING SO WELL. I have a problem. (In all fairness, I have certainly CUT DOWN on my makeup purchases, but I really have a lot of nice stuff and need to be shopping the stash rather than the counters.) ANYWAY, I saw Pop Art Mini Skirt on someone's blog and I really liked it. I also ordered two more shadows to go with it: Aye, Captain because of the name (inside joke) and Dressed to Kill because I don't have anything like it. I also got Equal Rights Shine as a generously sized sample.

From top to bottom: Equal Rights Shine, Pop Art Mini Skirt, Aye, Captain, Dressed to Kill
My swatch photos did not really turn out as you can see so I will give a brief colour description:
Equal Rights Shine: Golden yellow with pink sparkle.
Pop Art Mini Skirt: Bright, peachy orange with an aqua sparkle to it (very sparkly!)
Aye, Captain: The Fyrinnae website describes this as a "glowing" colour and I agree, it definitely has a glowing, shimmery, sparkly quality to it. It is a really neat colour, my picture does not do it justice.
Dressed to Kill: Dark green with lots of gold sparkles.
If you are into indie cosmetics, this is a company that I would definitely recommend!

Neon and Neutral

One of the recent trends that I have enjoyed is the neon and nude/neutral thing. I really love neon but a person can easily overdo this; when a neon is paired with a neutral shade it can look a lot more wearable. I have also been enjoying the neon accessories that have been available lately. This look is from last year, but I still like to wear variations on this particular theme when I go out.

FACE: MAC Prep and Prime, MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NC15, MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder in NC15.

BROWS: MAC Eyebrow Pencil in Stud.

LIPS: Lime Crime Centrifuschia (I tried this with MAC Candy Yum Yum but that colour just does NOT work on me, dammit!)

EYES: Base: UDPP and MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre.
Shadows: Inglot Matte 342, 349, and 353, Stargazer Florescent Pressed Powder in Lemon Yellow, Kryolan UV Yellow Aquacolour.
Liners: Maybelline Liquid Black Eyeliner, possibly UD Stray Dog.
Mascara: Jane Cosmetics UV Fluorescent Mascara, Lise Watier 24 Hours Glam.
Lashes: Ardell Accents 305 Black.

I have since had to throw out my good old faithful Kryolan UV Aquacolour palette as it had gone off, unfortunately :(

Dress: American Apparel
Belt and Bracelet: Le Chateau
Tights: Ebay
Shoes and Bag: Aldo

Do you like neons? What do you think of the whole neon and nude/neutral thing?
