Well it's that time of the year again! I have to say that I really don't enjoy the Xmas season as much as I used to. It is our busiest time of the year at work, the hours are sh*tty, people tend to be in a foul mood and things often devolve into a total gong show. I only have one day off out of 7 this week so unfortunately I cannot go to my hometown to see my family for Xmas. On a more positive note, I have recently gone to some Xmas movies (National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - aka the best movie ever & Krampus) and watched some Christmas specials (Trailer Park Boys!!) with friends so that has been really nice. Also, my sister and her husband visited last month and so did my parents.......we had turkey dinner in November which was fun!
Anyways, I have been feeling a bit deranged for some reason this holiday season. My outfit, which was worn to attend a screening of Christmas Vacation, reflects this.
DERANGED XMAS OUTFIT
Hair accessory: A Christmas ornament that I stuck to my head with bobby pins.
Earrings and socks: WM
Sweater: Vintage
Skirt: Target
Tights: American Apparel
Boots: Guess
Since I was feeling truly deranged, I wore green eyeshadow on one eye and red on the other. VERY FESTIVE!! Unfortunately for my dignity, this outfit was seen in public other than at a Christmas movie.....something was wrong with my cat earlier in the day so I had to make an unexpected trip to the vet to get him checked out. (He's fine now!) Thankfully the people at the vet clinic are all true professionals so no one said anything.
FESTIVE TRIMMINGS
Adding a Santa hat to the large skull that resides in my living room was a very festive touch. This pairs well with our black Xmas tree. |
Something that has been keeping me amused lately is the pluralizing problem I have noticed on various holiday cards, sweaters, and decorations. I keep seeing things that say "Happy Holiday" or "Season's Greeting" rather than "Happy Holidays" and "Season's Greetings" as they are supposed to say. I don't know why I find this so funny but I am hysterical whenever I see this (see above re: deranged). Therefore, I shall end this post by saying SEASON'S GREETING and HAPPY HOLIDAY to you all! I hope you enjoy any celebrations you may take part in at this time of the year!
