Season's Greeting and Happy Holiday

Well it's that time of the year again! I have to say that I really don't enjoy the Xmas season as much as I used to. It is our busiest time of the year at work, the hours are sh*tty, people tend to be in a foul mood and things often devolve into a total gong show. I only have one day off out of 7 this week so unfortunately I cannot go to my hometown to see my family for Xmas. On a more positive note, I have recently gone to some Xmas movies (National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - aka the best movie ever & Krampus) and watched some Christmas specials (Trailer Park Boys!!) with friends so that has been really nice.  Also, my sister and her husband visited last month and so did my parents.......we had turkey dinner in November which was fun!
Anyways, I have been feeling a bit deranged for some reason this holiday season. My outfit, which was worn to attend a screening of Christmas Vacation, reflects this.

Hair accessory: A Christmas ornament that I stuck to my head with bobby pins.
Earrings and socks: WM
Sweater: Vintage
Skirt: Target
Tights: American Apparel
Boots: Guess

Since I was feeling truly deranged, I wore green eyeshadow on one eye and red on the other. VERY FESTIVE!! Unfortunately for my dignity, this outfit was seen in public other than at a Christmas movie.....something was wrong with my cat earlier in the day so I had to make an unexpected trip to the vet to get him checked out. (He's fine now!) Thankfully the people at the vet clinic are all true professionals so no one said anything.

Really irritating and loud jingle ball earrings, Lise Watier Gloss Festive in Gold and Eye Glitter Liner in Golden Green, Christmas ornament that I stuck in my hair, and Sugarpill Chromalusts in Goldilux, Junebug, and Asylum.
Adding a Santa hat to the large skull that resides in my living room was a very festive touch. This pairs well with our black Xmas tree.
Something that has been keeping me amused lately is the pluralizing problem I have noticed on various holiday cards, sweaters, and decorations. I keep seeing things that say "Happy Holiday" or "Season's Greeting" rather than "Happy Holidays" and "Season's Greetings" as they are supposed to say. I don't know why I find this so funny but I am hysterical whenever I see this (see above re: deranged). Therefore, I shall end this post by saying SEASON'S GREETING and HAPPY HOLIDAY to you all! I hope you enjoy any celebrations you may take part in at this time of the year!

Kraftwerk Concert

A few months ago, I went to see Kraftwerk in concert. I considered it quite a privilege as this was not a band I ever thought I would see live! I wore a long dress from Futurstate clothing (they're Canadian!!) I love wearing it as it is a nice example of classy cyber fashion (and it's comfortable, too!) It has a slit in the back of the skirt part so I wore my Demonia Cyber Crypto boots.

The concert was just awesome, I was blown away! When we got there we were given 3-D glasses.....that's why the pictures below look funny, the graphics on the screen behind them are meant to be viewed with the glasses. Too bad it was a sit-down concert, I think it would be fun to dance to it. If you ever get a chance to see them I would highly recommend going!

EYES: Sleek Sparkle Palette, Sugarpill Tiara, Urban Decay Uzi Eyeliner and Eyeshadow, Annabelle Eye Glitter Liner in Plutonium, Inglot Liquid Eyeliner 27, Sugarpill False Lashes in Paparazzi.
CHEEKS: A Hot Mess Cosmetics Blush in Last Day on Earth (made by me).
LIPS: NYX Lip Pencil in Deep Red, NARS Hardwired lipstick in Deadly Catch.

Earrings: Le Chateau
Light up LED Necklace: My Little Ponytail
Top: 24RHRS
Dress: Futurstate Clothing
Corset: From Camden Market shop
Boots: Demonia Cyber Crypto

One of the parts of the concert that was pretty neat was when they showed a UFO/spaceship flying through space. Eventually it zoomed in on the earth until it got to our location and landed in front of the concert hall we were in!

Are you a Kraftwerk fan? Have you ever seen them in concert?

Killstar Lunar Skater Dress

The skater dress has become somewhat ubiquitous in clothing stores that I shop in lately. Usually when I see them, I write them off as too cutesy; I feel I am a bit too old* to wear them. Despite this, I just couldn't resist the phases of the moon print on the Killstar Lunar Skater Dress...I just LOVE anything space themed! The skater dress style is too short for me to wear strictly as a dress; I have made it work in my wardrobe by using it like a tunic to layer under cropped jackets and over leggings. I enjoy this sort of outfit for attending more casual events; the outfit on the right was worn to an outdoor food truck event that is held several times a year where I live. Due to its ability to be layered, I have been able to make many outfits with this dress since I bought it!

Galaxy print scarf (right): Gift from a friend
Jacket: Le Chateau
Leggings: Lululemon
Shoes (left): Ratchet by Elly Clay

The leggings used for these outfits have also been worn a lot since I got them. I usually do not care for the trend of incorporating athletic/activewear into outfits but I could not resist these! A friend who wears that brand a lot pointed them out to me.

Do you ever wear skater dresses? What are your feelings on using activewear pieces in your daily outfits?

*DISCLAIMER: My statement about feeling to old to wear certain things reflects my own feelings about how I look and my personal style. My comment is not meant to be aimed at other people, I am a huge supporter of wearing what you feel good in at any age!*
