Lazy Clubwear: Alien Botany

Hello, I hope everyone is having a good weekend! It is Saturday so today I shall post a clubbing outfit......albeit a lazy one.  Due to my unfortunate work schedule, I only get one weekend off a month. On the Thursday and Friday before my weekend off, I work 2 shifts with only 8 hours in between them so on Fridays after work I am usually pretty tired. Thus, I am quite irritated that many club nights/events/concerts have been falling on Fridays rather than Saturdays lately. I have been resorting to wearing some pretty lazy/comfortable outfits for these evenings (if I manage to go out at all, that is......getting old and tired sucks!)
I added some really cool leggings to my wardrobe last year and they have worked well for making comfortable yet somewhat interesting outfits. They have such an awesome print on them but I find that it is hard to do them justice in my photographs. Also, my outfits that I have made kind of suck, I feel like I need to think of something way more interesting to wear these with!

Sugarpill Heart Breaker and Sweet Heart Palettes, Sugarpill Angel Baby False Eyelashes, Cryoflesh collar and cuff, MAC Lipstick in Violetta, MAC Mineralize Blush in Sakura, MAC Chromaline in Rich Purple, Earrings by Lemantula Designs.
You will note the presence of some hair extensions in the above picture.  I was trying to do a really neat hairstyle with these so the colours would match the print in my leggings. Being that I suck at doing hair, I screwed it up royally, got pissed off, and just put my hair in a straightened ponytail and that was the end of that.

Mesh top: Probably bought it 10 years ago, who knows where it came from
Tunic/Dress Type Thing: Black Milk
Leggings: Zoetica Ebb

Ratchet by Elly Clay

Tunic: Dex

MAC Violetta, Lemantula Designs earrings, old spike bracelet that I have had forever, ring by The Rouge and the Wolf.
Do you have any neat leggings? What do you wear them with?

My Sister's Wedding

Last summer, my younger sister got married. *SNIFF* They grow up so fast! *SNIFF*

For a wedding, I like to do matte, neutral makeup with two colours of blush, a clear tint for the lips, and false eyelashes. I learned these tips from the Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual and I have found that they are spot on for having your makeup photograph well. I, for one, photograph very poorly but at least my makeup was looking on point. I bought my first pair of mink eyelashes from a local beauty boutique to be extra fancy for the wedding.

Creme de la Creme mink eyelashes in Overindulgent, MAC Sheen Supreme Lipglass Tint in Blushing Berry, various Inglot and Annabelle eye shadows, Tarte Park Avenue Princess blush, Too Faced Pink Leopard Bronzing Powder, UD 24/7 Liner in Midnight Cowboy, and Amaterasu liquid eyeliner.

My sister chose multi-coloured rainbow bouquets and they looked awesome against the white wedding dress! She found someone on Etsy who makes them out of silk flowers; they looked very real, I thought they were so cool! We also had rainbow holographic clutches (my sister's was white).

We wore matching jewellery for the wedding from Hillberg and Berk. I wore hematite sparke balls and she had white opalescent ones. I would not normally go for this type of jewellery; however, I now have several pairs of the earrings. They are a nice way to dress up your look a bit even when you are wearing a semi-alternative outfit. It is also a good idea to have some "grown-up" jewellery around for when spikes and skulls are not appropriate. Also, Hillberg and Berk is a company that hails from my hometown. REPRESENT.

Before the wedding, my mom and sister and I went to get our nails did. I got some gel nails but opted out of the pedicure as it feels weird to me to make someone else touch my feet!

My sister picked out a freakin' awesome wedding dress; look at that sweet train! I went with her to pick one out, there are some really cool wedding dresses available these days! We both went to get our hair did before the wedding; my sister got her makeup done as well. I am always wary of letting others do one's makeup but they picked out this awesome plum lipstick that looked fantastic on her so they knew what they were doing! Her hair was pretty awesome as well, I loved the fishtail braid!

You should have seen her wedding photos! The photographer did an awesome job, I cannot even describe how they turned out. I am terrible at photography and just don't get it so I am always amazed when someone can take photos of people in a back alley and make them look all whimsical and artsy! Anyways, the wedding was awesome! It was a nice, relaxed, toned-down affair and she married an awesome guy. What more could you ask for?

DISCLAIMER: Please note that I am aware that getting your hair did and your nails did is not grammatically correct. Thank you. LOL.

Plum Skirt

Well hello there! Finally, summer is almost over and it is starting to cool off outside!! Fall is my favourite time of year and I can't wait to start wearing my fall clothing! Anyway, here is another attempt at surviving heat while trying to look like I put some effort into my appearance. I tried to do some plum and purple tones to spice up my neutral eyeshadow but my crappy photography skills did not pick it up.

Lise Watier Midnight Pearls eyshadow in Orchid, Bourjois Paris eyeshadow 13, Benefit Rockateur blush, Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in Gabby, UD Naked palette, Tokyomilk Dark Destiny No 79.

Earrings: Hillberg and Berk
Necklace: Le Chateau
Cuff: Who knows I've had it forever
Top: Le Chateau
Skirt: Workhall (local)
Shoes: United Nude

I have been wearing Tokyomilk Dark Destiny No 79 perfume a fair bit this summer. It is not a scent I would normally go for but it feels summer-y or something. Apparently it has notes of honeysuckle in it. FUN FACT ABOUT HONEYSUCKLE: the woody part of the plant contains a chemical that cats react to in a similar way to catnip. My aunt brought over a dried honeysuckle stick and both of my cats got all weird over it!

Did you know that cats react to honeysuckle?

Also, sorry for my very late comments, I have been away from the computer lately.
